Under Construction
November was a working month - hence the lack of blog posts.
Work, auditions, 3 projects, and I decided to change gears a bit.
I had an interview/meeting/audition with a couple of agents earlier this month. One of the agents asked me a few questions that I never actually considered. Questions - that when answered - would be immensely helpful to me.
In the last year of university you are told that you must “work hard out there”, “audition, audition, audition”, “create your own work”, “get an agent and/or a manager”, and on and on and on. I left in pursuit of most of those things with very little planning done. I knew that I wanted to grow - I want to be better and work with great people. That’s a continuous goal for me. But I didn’t narrow down the business aspect of things. It is show “business” after all. I didn’t know the casting directors of my favorite films/TV shows, the specific theaters that are working on shows that I need to be apart of…
The rest of 2018, for me, is under construction. Planning, preparing.
Also! I watched American Son by Christopher Demos-Brown starring Kerry Washington and Steven Pasquale. I enjoyed it. I have been fairly content with the straight plays that I have seen on Broadway - they have been relevant and confrontational. This play was no different, it did not let the audience off the hook, it hurt. I recommend.
